WordPress 3.9 is now out
23 April 2014

WordPress 3.9 is now out and has been named “Smith” in honour of jazz organist Jimmy Smith, is available for download or update in your WordPress dashboard. This release features a number of refinements that we love and think you will as well.

A smoother media editing experience

Improved visual editing

The updated visual editor has improved speed, accessibility, and mobile support. You can paste into the visual editor from your word processor without wasting time to clean up messy styling. (Yeah, we’re talking about you, Microsoft Word.)

Edit images easily

With quicker access to crop and rotation tools, WordPress 3.9 is now much easier to edit your images while editing posts. You can also scale images directly in the editor to find just the right fit.

Drag and drop your images

Uploading your images is easier than ever. Just grab them from your desktop and drop them in the editor.

Why WordPress is so Great

We have been working with WordPress for a long time now and this latest upgrade just enforces our view that WordPress is great and getting better all the time.

Here are 4 reasons:

  1. WordPress is Rock Solid – With so many developers and contributors working on the core coding, every bug and issue is ironed out. And with so many users, WordPress 3.9 is building on its solid roots tom its very large following.
  2. WordPress is Simple to use – WordPress 3.9 is probably the simplest to use CMS out there. We realise that whilst our clients want a great site and they also want to be able to update it quickly, they do not want to have to learn complex systems. WordPress is as easy as a simple word processor to use!
  3. WordPress has thousands of Plugins – WordPress 3.9 itself is great but it is the vast range of plugins that really turn it into an awesome product capable of handling pretty much anything a site owner would want.
  4. WordPress is Easier to Manage – WordPress is open source which means that there are thousands of developers could pick it up and work on it straight away. Gone are the days of having a developer build your site and then hold you to ransom with updates and changes to a site only they seem to understand.
